Eleven-year-old Cora June celebrated her birthday this summer by hosting her annual lemonade stand fundraiser benefiting Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh and raised an amazing $1,769!

The fundraiser was hosted this year at Highland United Methodist Church, a long-time partner of Habitat Greater Raleigh.

On July 19, Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh hosted a dedication ceremony celebrating six families as they became homeowners in the Flowers Place neighborhood of Knightdale. The event marked the final dedication in the neighborhood, celebrating the completion of all 17 Habitat homes.

Throughout June, Enact employees participated in their annual Month of Service, dedicating their time and talents to organizations making a difference across our community. As part of that effort, Enact team members joined Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh on the construction site to help build affordable homes alongside future homeowners and fellow volunteers.

On Saturday, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, the most significant effort on housing policy reform in over a decade, became law. This historic, bipartisan legislation will bring homeownership within reach for Americans across the country. 

The evolutionary scientists and theologians Fr. Teilhard de Chardin, Louis Savary, Patricia Berne and Sister Ilia Delio proclaim that God’s love is the core energy of the universe bringing the basic elements of the universe together. Evolution is “God’s Love Project”, with humanity emerging with the role of advancing this project. Teilhard states, “The day will come when, after harnessing space, winds, the tide and gravitation, humanity shall harness for God the energy of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, humanity will have discovered fire”.
