Some homes hold a lifetime of memories. For Channie, her Southeast Raleigh home has been part of her family’s story since she was in ninth grade. Now, she is continuing that legacy with help from Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh and community partners who are helping her maintain the home she loves. 

Habitat Greater Raleigh staff joined affiliates from around the world at Habitat for Humanity’s 2026 Affiliate Conference last week in Atlanta, Ga.

Habitat is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, marking five decades of working alongside families and communities to build and advocate for a world where everyone has a safe, affordable place to live.

Throughout the week, the team connected with fellow affiliates, exchanged ideas and explored innovative approaches to addressing housing challenges.

Last Saturday's Home Dedication Ceremony was a beautiful and joyful event, as ten families officially became homeowners. The day was filled with celebration and moving speeches from the families, members of our faith community and supporters. 

This October, Habitat Greater Raleigh will once again take part in the annual Triangle Parade of Homes. This year’s event will showcase two Habitat Greater Raleigh townhomes, including a two-bedroom unit that will soon become part of the Building Independence program.

Election Day is November 3rd! The 2026 ballot includes several measures that will directly affect affordable housing, including Raleigh’s Affordable Housing Bond and three proposed amendments to the NC state constitution. It's important for voters to understand how each these measures will impact their communities. Read on to learn more and make an informed decision this November!

As we have celebrated 40 years of Habitat Greater Raleigh, I look ahead with hope toward 50. As pastor of The Fountain of Raleigh Fellowship, a longtime Habitat participant, and former board member of the Greater Raleigh affiliate, I have seen Habitat become far more than a housing organization. It is a living expression of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of the Beloved Community – a society marked by dignity, justice, compassion, and shared responsibility. 

Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh announces a $500,000 gift from First Citizens Bank to support the organization’s Revolving Loan Fund, providing flexible capital to help expand affordable homeownership opportunities across Wake, Johnston and Franklin counties.
