On Saturday, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, the most significant effort on housing policy reform in over a decade, became law. This historic, bipartisan legislation will bring homeownership within reach for Americans across the country.
The evolutionary scientists and theologians Fr. Teilhard de Chardin, Louis Savary, Patricia Berne and Sister Ilia Delio proclaim that God’s love is the core energy of the universe bringing the basic elements of the universe together. Evolution is “God’s Love Project”, with humanity emerging with the role of advancing this project. Teilhard states, “The day will come when, after harnessing space, winds, the tide and gravitation, humanity shall harness for God the energy of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, humanity will have discovered fire”.

Good morning everyone, I am truly excited and grateful to be here today to speak about the goodness of Habitat for Humanity and the impact it has had on my life and the lives of so many families.
“This is a great way to find what you’re passionate about, learn what you’re good at and develop an idea of a career. It’s good to find people that are also passionate about the same things," said Jacelyn, Habitat Summer of Service intern and rising freshman at NC State University.

We can’t believe it’s already been a week since we wrapped this year's Home Builders Blitz! From May 28–June 5, ten for-profit home builders alongside Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh partnered with subcontractors and other industry leaders to build six affordable Habitat for Humanity homes from frame to finish in just seven days.
The North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA) recently passed HB 1089 – Constitutional Amendment Property Tax Levy Limit. The legislation will put a constitutional amendment on the ballot during the 2026 midterm election that asks voters if the NCGA should limit their local property tax bills.
Abdelhaq works at a local bakery, and like many service-industry employees, he’s watched housing costs rise far faster than wages. The chance to secure an affordable mortgage and a stable future brings deep peace of mind as he and his wife, Malika, look toward the years to come.
Walking beside them every step of the way is their daughter, Bouchra, who has been her parents’ biggest advocate throughout the journey.
“My daughter found this program,” Abdelhaq said, reflecting on what led their family to Habitat Wake.
