Habitat’s bold mission, vision and principles fuel our efforts to lead an affordable housing movement and build the Beloved Community locally. Our theology is clear. God is love, and we are to put that love into action by building and advocating for affordable housing.
The faith community has partnered with Habitat Greater Raleigh since our founding in 1985 and plays an integral role in our work. Hundreds of congregations partner with us each year to raise funds, send volunteers, pray together and advocate for affordable housing. Together we are harnessing God’s love to build a more loving and just community where everyone has a quality, affordable place to call home.
Construction
Your congregation can join us on the construction site to work side-by-side with future homebuyers and a wide variety of other congregations to build safe, affordable, energy-efficient homes across our service area. As we build homes together, we tear down walls that separate people of different faiths, races and cultures. Congregations participate in either our Spring or Fall Beloved Build campaigns. Advocacy
Our community has an affordable housing crisis with 1 out of 4 families spending more than 30% of their income on housing. We have a shortage of 22,481 housing units for households with annual incomes less than $61,150. Even though Habitat Greater Raleigh is one of the largest homebuilders in the Habitat network, we can’t build fast enough to meet this need. As instructed in our faith, we must also use our voice (Proverbs 31:8).
Join us in non-partisan advocacy to shape housing policy so that everyone has access to a quality, affordable place to call home. Sign up for Advocacy Alerts to inform your congregation about specific actions they can take. Enlist congregational members to become Advocacy Ambassadors to actively engage in issue-based campaigns, meet with policymakers, and attend events to influence policy changes and promote equitable, safe and affordable housing for all.
Support our ReStores
Habitat Greater Raleigh’s ReStore program is the largest in the country, funding 20 homes per year locally. Invite your congregation to shop, donate, and volunteer at Habitat’s ReStores to help even more families in need of affordable housing! When you shop at ReStore, 100% of proceeds fund affordable housing locally. Donate gently used furniture, home decor, appliances, building materials and more. Your congregation can send individual volunteers on a regular basis to help receive donations, organize merchandise, and assist shoppers.

Baffle Projects
A baffle is a cardboard panel painted with prayers and blessings and installed in a home's eaves to keep insulation in place. It’s a wonderful, hands-on opportunity for young volunteers in your congregation to get involved and support our work.
